Wordless/ful Wednesday #30 We Are The Champions!!

Can’t help but say it and toot my own horn a little. I’m so proud to announce that my team of wonderful tennis woman have now advanced to the USTA Texas State Sectionals Tournament!!!

We’re going to STATE BABY!!

I don’t usually post pictures of myself since I’m the camera shy type, but in this case I’ll make an exception.  It’s not hard to pick me out of the group.  I’m the shortest one on the right with the ear to ear grin.  I don’t think I’m really the shortest gal on our team… OK, it’s highly possible… but it doesn’t help that I was standing next to two glamazons (and I mean that in the beautiful sense) who are a foot taller then me. And even though I might be vertically challenged I make up for it with heart. (And a big serve!–Note the biceps baby!)

Three cheers for our team!  WE DID IT LADIES!!  I’m so proud of everyone!  And that goes for those who were not pictured above as well!!  If it wasn’t for each and every one of you, no matter how big or small of a role you think you played, we wouldn’t be going to these wonderful places with our team without the individual efforts of everyone!  We are a team!  And we are all WINNERS!! And I want to add a special THANK YOU to our team captain, the glamazon on the left in yellow. Without you none of this would have been possible!!  XOXO

That is all.

Wordless/ful Wednesday #29 I’m Giving You The Finger

Well folks, I’ve been a very busy girl the last week or so.  And that’s why I’ve been scarce to find online.  And that’s also why I’m going to share with you a very simple but very powerful Wordless/ful Wednesday post image today.  One that will shake you to your boots (with laughter), promises to cleanse your soul (and nose by snorting out what ever you are drinking at the time), and guarantees to embarrass my daughter and gain some more wonderful teenage blackmail material.

I present to you….. The Finger.

Yes, ladies and germs, here is my daughter, in all her cuteness, with her finger buried up to its knuckle in booger surprise.  Frankly, as I watched her, slightly gagging and trying not to laugh my butt off, as she tried to scratched her brain, all I could think about was how many times I’ll be able to get her to empty the dishwasher when she gets older.  I also thought of how nice it will be to frame this one and give it to whomever she marries.

Am I bitter mom? No. Just because she decided my body wasn’t where she wanted to stay after all, after 22 hours of labor, and then blasted out of me like a rocket leaving me scared for life doesn’t mean I’m out for any revenge.

Am I a mean mom? No. Just because she’s now decided that the funnest thing to do is scream her ear piercing scream that echos across the bathroom walls like a bell wrapped around my head while she is sitting on the potty doesn’t mean I want to make her scream more as a teenager.

Am I a mad mom? No. (Ok, maybe a little. But only in the lunatic sort of fashion) Just because she’s 2….. 2…..2…. 2…. years old.  Do I need to repeat that again?  She’s 2!  But that doesn’t mean I want to drive her crazy as a teenager.  (Ok, maybe a little bit)

Nope. I am simply a humble mom, who has a plan to one day have her dishes done and possibly, just maybe, have someone else pick up the doggy poop in the yard.

That is all.

To all my Mommy’s Joy readers and to those that aren’t and you just searched and found this email, please don’t EVER OPEN ANY ZIP FILES SAYING YOU ARE A WINNER UNLESS YOU KNOW THE PERSON OR DO YOU ONLINE HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!

All it took was for me to do a quick google search for Itunes email scam and I came up with a plethora of sites telling me to be wary of this.

If you do get one of these emails just simply delete it.  One site I read on this subject also suggest that those of you who use Outlook may want to be sure the email is properly deleted and not sitting in your saved trash mailbox.

HA! HA! You evil scammers! I foiled your plans again to get ahold of my personal information so you can empty my already empty bank account!  May one day all the good people of the world be able to charge YOUR credit cards for a new TV!

Turds!

Lets think about something better! CHOCOLATE! Enter my giveaway for a chance to win a Chocbite Gourmet Chocolate Bar. There will be 4 winners and there a tons of ways to enter and win! So go HERE NOW and check it out! And THIS is no scam baby!

Basking In The Memory Of A Star

When I was in high school I had a friend. I had a lot of friends but this one…she was special. I’ve never had another girlfriend in my life like her. I’ve never been close to another friend like I was with her. I’ve had lots of friends in the past and have lots of friends now, but none who knew my soul. If its possible to have a soul sister she was the one. She could almost read my mind and I could read hers. We were inseparable. She was the ying to my yang. She was the crazy to my sedate. She was the free bird to my cage.

She brought me out of my shell and taught me how to live life to its fullest. She would tell me “just go with the flow boo boo.” when I would start worrying about silly things. And to this day I still say that to myself when I get too stressed out about things. She was a walking mellow mood. Nothing would get to her and make her unhappy. At least on the outside she was always shining.

On the inside she was a confused little girl. Trapped in her own life. From growing up under hostel circumstances. Surviving in house that was not a home with people who would rather use her then love her, her star still shined bright. From being battered by life and those who would take advantage of her giving she was still brighter then a thousand suns. She was her own universe with her own gravitational pull. She could draw you in with her smile and her generous heart. But like all other worldly suns her light, sadly, tragically, eventually burned out.

Her trusting soul, begging for love in too many dangerous places caught up to her. She was strong and powerful on the outside but at her core she was unstable and slowly drained of energy. Until one day her life and shine was extinguished in one quick explosion that has continued to rock the cores of so many souls who loved her and orbited around her.

Many of us, like kids often do when growing up, drifted away. Choosing a life less dramatic but always still there, close enough to feel her heat if she allowed us. But she never took advantage of the safety that we offered her. And too many of us never took her by the hand and tugged her in the right direction.

In hindsight could we have saved her from herself? I doubt it. I believe that some people are meant to only be a physical part of our world for the time it takes to make their impact and teach those who need teaching. Will I always wonder if I could have done more? Yes. Will I always regret not doing more? Yes. Will I let it eat me up inside? No. Because there will always be her beautiful voice in my head telling me to “Go with the flow boo boo.”

She was a bright shiny star that burned brightly for everyone to share. She allowed us to see the beauty of our surroundings. To open our hearts and take notice of the little things that matter. To open our arms and embrace life at its fullest. Her light is now dark but the memory of it and the warmth she shared with the world will linger forever.

This morning I talked to another old friend I grew up with. Like many of us over the years he had some questions about the questionable death of a person who was very dear to all of us all. She touched his soul too.
