Evil Little Scammers On The Loose

I know I’m not alone when I say I’m tired of all the SPAM!  I hate it!  And, like you, I get frustrated when it seems like the best ways we have to control it and fight it only get used and abused by the spammers.  But I’m not just talking about “Hey! Buy my penis enlargement gadget and I promise you will grow 10 inches over night” sort of scams. Those are just ridiculous and do nothing more than make me laugh. Cuz you know I really do want my penis enlarged… SNORT!  I’m talking about the scams that empty people’s nest eggs and ruin lives.  Just recently I received in my inbox this little gem:

Dear Friend,

As you read this, I don’t want you to feel sorry for
me, because, I believe everyone will die someday.
My name is MR Wahid Adada a Crude Oil merchant in IRAN,i
have been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer .
It has defiled all forms of medical treatment, and
right now I have only about a few months to live,
according to medical experts.
I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I
never really cared for anyone(not even myself)but my
business. Though I am very rich, I was never
generous, I was always hostile to people and only
focused on my business as that was the only thing I
cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know
that there is more to life than just wanting to have
or make all the money in the world.
I believe when God gives me a second chance to come
to this world I would live my life a different way
from how I have lived it. Now that God has called
me, I have willed and given most of my property
and assets to my immediate and extended family
members as well as a few close friends.
I want God to be merciful to me and accept my soul
so, I have decided to give alms to charity
organizations, as I want this to be one of the last
good deeds I do on earth. So far, I have distributed
money to some charity organizations in Austra, cameroun,
liberia,Algeria and Malaysia. Now that my health has
deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself
anymore. I once asked members of my family to close
one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have
there to charity organization in Bulgaria and
Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to
themselves. Hence, I do not trust them anymore, as
they seem not to be contended with what I have left
for them.
The last of my money which no one knows of is the
huge cash deposit of fifteen million dollars
$15,000,000,00 that I have with a finance/Security
Company abroad. I will want you to help me collect this
deposit and dispatched it to charity organizations.

I have set aside 10% for you and for your time.

God be with you.
MR Wahid Adada

Ya! I’m going to jump right in and give you my time!  I’m not fooled by you! But unfortunately too many nice, innocent people are.  And that’s why I’m writing this.  After receiving this “offer” I started wondering what I could do with it.  I know its illegal but who do I tell? And I decided to find out and tell everyone else.  So the next time you get one of these great “deals” in your e-mail inbox you can do the simple thing and forward it on to the proper authorities.  It really is an important step in helping control these scams.

This was a really informative website I found that had great information and explained the different types of scams that are being run out there.

On Guard Online

The one I’ve shown you is called the “Nigerian” E-mail scam. Yep folks! It even has a name it’s so illegal.  And there are so many others.  I suggest reading up! It blew my mind how many different e-mails I get EVERYDAY that are illegal and should be reported. I usually delete them and never look back. Now I will think twice and I will do my simple part to help stop it.  Even if you were aware that this is a scam it’s amazing how many there are out there fooling people.

The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) has their own website that was also very informative to check out.

The next thing to do once you get a piece of scamming spam like this is REPORT IT!  And yes! There is an easy e-mail address to report it to.  Easy piesy!

It’s VERY IMPORTANT that you do this. While that piece of junk mail is annoying and it’s so easy to just hit delete and never think about it again.  Some other big hearted individual might be fooled. By taking the time to forward that e-mail (and the “long headers” or “full headers” too if you can) instead of deleting it you might be saving someone their life savings. It’s just as easy and it might help. It’s as easy as choosing to throw that aluminum can in the recycle bin when the trash bin is right next to it. And even if you don’t recycle just turn these suckers in.

Forward scams to:

Now if only we can convince the spammers of the world that I am not a man and do not have a need to enlarge my penis then the world will be round again.

Please forward this to everyone you know and love and who hates when big hearted people get scammed!
