EJ’s First Tooth

Today we discovered that our little girl will be growing up no matter how much we want to keep her tiny, squishy, and soft.  She’s started to cut her first tooth.  Just a little one on the bottom front.  We found it when she decided to chomp down on her daddy’s finger.  “Ouch! Honey I think there’s something sharp in her mouth.”  And there it was.  Little, hard and a clear promise that she’s going to get more teeth. And then she’s going to grow bigger and stronger.  Then one day older and off to college she goes.  Then she’ll be inspecting her own daughters first tooth.  OMG!!  I’ll admit to tears welling up and mourning the loss of her beautiful little empty mouth smile.  I’ve always thought her toothless mouthy grin was the cutest thing in the world, next to her cute feet, hands, ears, belly button, knees… Ok, so I could go on.   But I’m really going to miss that grin.

Sniff, sniff.
